Crows in
black and white frozen in mid-air; a means by which the artist
can maintain a universal dialogue between evil and compassion.
These are works she created in order to get close again to
color. There was in the artist’s life a period in which she was
able to grasp the essence of the subject, and therefore the use
of black and white seemed more appropriate; this happens to film
directors as well, when they at times avoid color. In this
specific case, in order to present only one figure (the crow, in
addition to all that such a figure carries with it, based on
literature and a certain type of mythology), had she used too
many colours it may have even seemed misleading.
